Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) Dysfunction

As much as 60% of the population experiences at least one symptom of Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction. (TMD)

What is it?

TMJ Pain

TMD is an umbrella term covering pain and dysfunction of the muscles of mastication (the muscles that move the jaw) and the temporomandibular joints (the joints which connect the mandible to the skull.

What are the symptoms?

Have your TMJ evaluated if you are experiencing any of the following:

  • Headaches - particularly in the temporal region

  • Pain and/or clicking in the TMJ

  • Ear pain, a sense of fullness in the ear and/or tennitus (ringing) in the ear

  • Upper cervical (neck) pain and stiffness

  • Dizziness (often with tennitus)
