Pelvic Health Physiotherapy focuses on the muscles, joints, and nerves of the pelvis and core. It can help with things like bladder or bowel concerns, pelvic pain, pain with intercourse, pregnancy and postpartum recovery, and support before or after pelvic or abdominal surgeries. Our Pelvic Health Physiotherapists have additional training and work one-on-one in a private treatment room.

What you can expect within your first session:
Your session will be in a private treatment room, where your provider will begin by reviewing Pelvic Health Physiotherapy, obtain your consent to the treatment, and offer you the opportunity to ask any questions and learn more.
Your provider will review your full history to help understand the whole picture, giving the opportunity for a better tailored treatment plan. Your treatment will consist of physical assessment and treatment as determined, as well as education and review of a home program and plan.

What time should I arrive for my appointment?

Patients should arrive 10-15 mins earlier than their appointment start time to ensure enough time to fill out intake forms/consent if not completed prior online

Wear something comfortable. You can bring a change of clothes (specifically extra pair of underwear)

Do I have to have an internal exam?

Sometimes your pelvic health physiotherapist may recommend an internal assessment, but it’s never required. The therapist will explain why it might be helpful, and you can always decline or choose external treatment only.
